You should not work with a lead provider without doing due diligence first. Without asking a lead generation company a few key questions, you may find yourself out a fair chunk of change, not to mention billable hours spent setting up your account. If you’re considering working with a lead provider, here are a few questions you can have prepared for your first conversation.
“Are the leads exclusive?”
This question is important because if your leads aren’t exclusive, you’ll have to be pretty quick on the draw when a lead is received. It’s possible that non-exclusive leads could be sent to five or more neighboring firms, so if a competing firm calls your lead first, you could miss out on a great case.
eGenerationMarketing’s leads are always exclusive. While we still recommend reaching out to your lead as soon as you can, we will not send a lead to more than one of our clients.
“Can I only receive (case type)?
You’ll probably want to know if your lead provider allows you to screen your leads to receive more desirable cases. Screening is a good option for smaller firms who don’t have a dedicated intake staff available to call leads as soon as they arrive.
We have screening options for our Social Security disability leads (age, seeing a doctor, etc.) and our personal injury leads, but we typically do not recommend screening for most firms. While screening can increase the quality of your lead package, you’re essentially paying us to throw away leads on your behalf. Your package price will rise, and you could be missing out on slam-dunk cases. The world’s largest PI settlement was a general liability claim!
“What areas are available?”
It’s not ideal for personal injury attorneys to take leads nationwide—How can you handle cases in Alaska if you’re only licensed in Florida? Knowing how large (or small) a lead provider’s coverage is will help decide if you’ll be able to work with the company.
We offer leads in four size ranges:
- Nationwide
- Statewide
- Area code
- Three-digit zip prefix
This way you’ll be able to receive leads in whatever area is most convenient for you.
“What kind of commitment do I need to make?”
Big contracts and long-term commitments are scary. Some lead generation companies want you to sign a contract confirming you’ll meet a minimum spend, or stay with the company for a specified timeframe.
eGenerationMarketing doesn’t have any long-term contracts or purchase thresholds. We allow you to pay as you go, meaning you can pause your account at any time with just two days’ notice, whether you have a big vacation planned or are cutting back on your budget.
Our flexibility doesn’t just work for pausing accounts either. Shoot us an email or give us a phone call and we’ll work to increase your caseload if you’re interested in taking more leads.
