It can be difficult constantly trying to come up with new content ideas for your firm’s site. Sometimes your list of potential topics is just uninspiring. To help keep the content ideas flowing, here are some free tools that can help you come up with new ideas for your firm’s site:
Google Search Console
Google Search Console is a free tool from Google that gives access to a lot of valuable information about your firm’s site. Using the performance report, you can find information about queries and keywords your firm’s site ranks for. You may find some keywords you rank for, but don’t have a dedicated piece of content for. For example, you may find that your Social Security disability firm appears in the searches for “denied disability benefits for cancer” because your page on cancer and disability benefits briefly mentions denials. Based on this, you can write a blog specifically about what to do when your initial claim denied when you have cancer.
Google Trends
Google Trends is another free resource provided by Google. Instead of showing data about your firm’s site, it shows a keyword’s popularity in searches on Google. You can also look at related queries to your term. This can come in handy when trying to come up with content ideas. For example, looking at the search term “disability benefits”, the related query of “how do I apply for disability benefits” appears, also showing that it has seen an increase in searches. You can then create a “how to” guide on applying disability benefits.
Answer the Public
Answer the Public is another great free tool. By searching a short phrase, you will then be given a variety of questions, prepositions, comparisons and keywords related to the query you searched. These can all be used as topics for content for your firm’s site. If you are not sure what type of content is to include for these new topics, you can click the suggested topic and you will be brought straight to the Google search for that term, showing the pages that already rank for that keyword.
HubSpot Blog Idea Generator
Using HubSpot Blog Idea Generator, you will be given content ideas you may not have thought of before. Simply put a keyword into the search and you’ll receive a few different blog ideas. These ideas will not be as conventional as ones coming from keyword research. For example, if you look up Employment Law, some suggestions include “Employment Law: Expectations vs. Reality” and “This Week’s Top Stories About Employment Law”. Both can be very relevant topics to add to your firm’s site.
Paid Tools
Though these are not free, if you are already subscribed to an SEO or online marketing tool, then you will likely have access to tools that can help with content ideas. If you are using softwares like Moz, SEMRush, or AHrefs, then you can use their content idea tools. Though the tools differ by software, they each have some form of a content idea generator or keyword generator. You’ll be given different content ideas based on a keyword you search. If you are not subscribed to an SEO software, many provide free trials, ranging from a week to a month.
These are just a few free tools that can help your firm come up with content ideas. If you are still stuck after testing out some of these, sometimes a simple Google search is all you need!
