The National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives, commonly referred to as NOSSCR, hosts biannual conferences for Social Security attorneys in different cities across the country. While some attorneys may simply view this as a vacation or a way to meet their mandatory CLE requirements, these legal conferences serve valuable takeaways that can help you professionally and make your firm more profitable.

Now that we’re a few weeks removed from the most recent NOSSCR conference in Atlanta, many attorneys are going back to business as usual without implementing any new strategies. Here are some of the ways you can utilize resources from the NOSSCR conference to increase your firm’s revenue:

Review the connections you made

The NOSSCR conference is one of the best ways you can network and meet fellow legal professionals. Speaking to other attorneys can not only establish potential professional relationships in the future, but can also bestow insights on the current state of the legal industry as well.

When you’re back in the office, go through every business card you received and review all of the personal connections you made. It’s in your best interest to stay in touch and follow up with your connections because you never know what situation you’ll be in down the road. Pick a Strategy and Stick with it

It may seem daunting enough as it is to attempt to retain the information being put out at the seminars at NOSSCR. Unfortunately, it’s even more challenging to actually look at all the useful information, determine which tactic is most relevant and potentially profitable for your firm, and then implement a strategy and stick with it.

Make sure you review the documents and notes you and your staff have from NOSSCR so you can evaluate all of your options to decide which session are most relevant to your practice.

The session was regarding preparing staff for the Bar Exam, and he now provides a helpful guide for his paralegals that are looking to take the Bar. This will help his firm in the long run because his paralegals will pass the Bar more efficiently and be more prepared when they are licensed to practice. It’s likely you met a lot of sales reps at the NOSSCR conference and aren’t sure who, if anyone, you should work with.
