Depending on how much your client was at fault for a car crash or slip-and-fall accident, his or her claim will be reduced, or even thrown out of court. Here are some of the best (and worst) states for personal injury negligence.

Worst: Pure Contributory Negligence

This is the bottom of the barrel for PI negligence laws. In states that have pure contributory negligence, any personal injury claimant will not be able to receive damages if he was even 1% at fault for the accident. There are only four states that follow pure contributory negligence laws in personal injury claims:

Alabama
Maryland
North Carolina
Virginia

Practicing personal injury law in one of these states is certainly more challenging than elsewhere, but by no means impossible.

Best: Pure Comparative Negligence

Pure comparative negligence means that a claimant’s settlement will be reduced by however much he or she was at fault for the accident. Even if a claimant was 99% at fault for an accident, she may still be entitled to compensation.

This is a perfect situation for attorneys taking slip-and-fall cases, one of the most common forms of personal injury claims. Even if your client was rather oblivious and slipped in a restaurant that had a clear “wet floor” sign on the premises, your client could still have a chance of receiving compensation if the restaurant was just 1% responsible for the accident. These are the states that follow pure comparative fault laws:

Alaska
Arizona
California
Florida
Kentucky
Louisiana
Mississippi
Missouri
New Mexico
New York
Washington

Other States To Consider

While states with pure comparative negligence can prove to be the most valuable to attorneys, states with modified comparative negligence. In states with modified comparative negligence, the plaintiff’s damages awarded will be reduced by the percentage they were found at fault for if the fault is not 50% or 51% (depending on state laws). Should the fault exceed the state’s 50% or 51% rule, then the plaintiff will not be awarded damages. States with modified comparative negligence include:

Arkansas (50% rule)
Colorado (50% rule)
Connecticut (51% rule)
Delaware (50% rule)
Florida (51% rule)
Georgia (50% rule)
Hawaii (51% rule)
Idaho (50% rule)
Illinois (51% rule)
Indiana (51% rule)
Iowa (51% rule)
Kansas (51% rule)
Maine (50% rule)
Massachusetts (51% rule)
Michigan (51% rule)
Minnesota (51% rule)
Montana (51% rule)
Nebraska (50% rule)
Nevada (51% rule)
New Hampshire (51% rule)
New Jersey (51% rule)
North Dakota (50% rule)
Ohio (51% rule)
Oklahoma (51% rule)
Oregon (51% rule)
Pennsylvania (51% rule)
South Carolina (51% rule)
Tennessee (50% rule)
Texas (51% rule)
Utah (50% rule)
Vermont (51% rule)
West Virginia (51% rule)
Wisconsin (51% rule)
Wyoming (51% rule)

Unlike states with pure contributory negligence, states with modified comparative negligence still allows those who were partially at fault to receive compensation for their damages. This makes the states plaintiff friendly states and better states to practice personal injury law in.

And if You’re Stuck in DC…

If you are able to become licensed to practice in another state, or hire an attorney licensed to practice in neighboring states, you will have a lot of opportunity to supplement your personal injury practice with cases in neighboring states. Here are some great neighbors for pure contributory states:

Maryland: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and West Virginia all follow modified 51% comparative fault, meaning your client could be equally at fault for an auto accident or slip-and-fall incident and still be able to file a claim.

Virginia: West Virginia has 51% modified comparative fault, Tennessee has 50% modified comparative fault, but the shining jewel is Kentucky: those practice in Western Virginia can hop the border to Kentucky, where the bourbon flows feely and you can file a PI claim if the defendant is just 1% at fault for an accident.

North Carolina: Similar to above—Tennessee and South Carolina use modified 50% comparative fault.

Alabama: Attorneys in Alabama have a wealth of options for taking PI claims in more favorable states. Mississippi and Florida both use pure comparative fault, while Georgia uses modified 50% comparative fault.

Increase Your PI Caseload Today

If you’d like to take personal injury leads in states with desirable fault laws, give us a call today at 617.800.0089. For attorneys, a call to action is the text that inspires a claimant to contact your firm regarding his or her legal claim.

There are endless variants of call to actions you can use on your website or other marketing materials, from something as simple to “call now” to a complex blog post on how legal assistance can ensure an auto accident arbitration goes well.

A call to action can be used in a variety of forms. They can be a button, text link, or even text with no link (paired with something else, like a phone number to click or form to fill out).

How To Write A Call To Action

A call to action can vary in length. Some are short while others may be a bit longer. The length will be dependent on the action you'd like your target audience to take. Because of this, the first step is defining what you'd like the user to do.

Next, you'll want to start your call to action off with a strong verb. Common verbs in call to actions include:

Buy
Call
Click
Contact
Find
Join
Learn

Your call to action should also provoke emotion. This can be done following the verb, finding a way to resonate with your audience. Social proof (such as how many people your firm has helped), finances (like how much money someone can get), benefits (what your firm does well), and sentiments (benefits for your clients, such as the relief of being approved for SSD), can all be used in your call to action to provoke emotion.

Call To Actions For Law Firms

The best call to action for lawyers are ones that invite a user to take action. Your call to action is dependent on what you'd like a user to do. Most law firm call to actions include ones that urge a user to call the firm or fill out a law firm.

The best CTA can vary on a case by case basis. By testing different call to actions, your firm can find what performs best for you.

Here are some call to action examples your firm can build on, and how they could help your firm increase its revenue.

“Contact Us Today”

“Contact” or “Contact Us” is one of the most commonly used call to actions. You’ll usually see this text displayed on the button someone presses to submit a contact form. It’s a simple way to try to tempt someone to reach out, and is a little more sophisticated than just “submit.” So why consider “Contact Us Today”? This will create a sense of urgency for the claimant. Many marketers believe “Today,” “Now,” and other related words increase click through rates or conversion rates.

“Get Help Now”

When claimants seek legal service, they’re really looking for help. They’re either unable to work due to a disability, or injured due to someone else’s negligence. “Get Help” is a great way to subtly show the claimant that you’re there to help, not just get a paycheck. This type of call to action is relevant for lawyers in nearly any area of consumer law.

“Free Evaluation”

A lot of consumers won’t speak with an attorney because they’re worried they’ll be charged something upfront. If you’re happy to speak with a claimant regarding his or her claim without charging anything, you should make it clear that there’s no risk in reaching out to your firm. Keep in mind that the word “free” is often a spam trigger, so you shouldn’t use this as the subject line of a marketing email or anything along those lines.

“Settle Your Claim”

This call to action is similar to “Get Help Now.” It’s designed with the hope of showing claimants that there’s a light of the end of the tunnel if they work with your firm. This call to action will be more relevant for some lawyers than others. For example, Social Security disability attorneys wouldn’t really need to “settle” anything, while personal injury attorneys need to settle disputes regarding negligence, fault, and insurance denials.

A call to action is just a single factor in a list of many components that affect your conversion rate. Your website design, color, and even button size all make a big difference when it comes to actually completing a form or calling a firm. What works for one lawyer may be an utter fiasco for another. Trial and error is one of the best ways to determine what’s best for your firm.

Deanna Wed, 11/13/2024 - 11:36

Wed, 13 Nov 2024 16:36:40 +0000 Deanna 548 at https://egenerationmarketing.com The Many Benefits of Partnering With eGen https://egenerationmarketing.com/blog/why-partner-with-egen The Many Benefits of Partnering With eGen

eGeneration works with law firms of all sizes across the United States. Over the past decade we’ve sold 3.5 million+ Social Security disability, personal injury, workers’ compensation, employment law, and long-term disability leads. When purchasing leads from eGen, one of the best things you can do to be successful with your package is keeping track of which leads you sign as clients. By partnering with eGen and updating lead data, you can identify the best (and worse) areas to buy leads, evaluate which employees sign up more clients, and even increase the quality of your leads.

How Does the Partnership Process Work?

We describe clients who provide lead feedback data as “partners,” but fortunately there isn’t a lot of effort needed on your end to give us lead data. In eLuminate, our proprietary lead and case management software, you’ll be able to quickly switch a lead’s status from pending to qualified, turned down, etc. Once a lead is updated in eLuminate, we’ll have the data on our back end for analysis. Additionally, if you send your client services representative a list of signed cases in a given month, we can manually update eLuminate for you. That’s it!

Benefit of Partnership #1: Identify Top Performing Areas

One of the top reasons why we always recommend clients partner with us is so we can analyze their success rates by geographical location. This is particularly important for clients who are taking leads in multiple states, or clients who look to increase their caseload in the future. Because eLuminate contains the lead’s zip code, we’re able to narrow down your sign rate by state, 3-digit zip code prefix, or even look at simply zip codes for some of our smaller clients.

For example, let’s say that a client currently receives 100 Social Security disability leads per month across Louisiana, Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama. They want to add another 50 leads per month, but aren’t sure if it’s better to focus on one state or add it in as a general upgrade. By updating eLuminate, they find that the conversion rates of their four states are as follows:

Alabama: 10.45%

Georgia: 9.38%

Louisiana: 14.87%

Mississippi: 11.24%

In this situation, Louisiana is vastly outperforming the other three states in the client’s package. While every state is generating an affordable cost per lead with the given conversion rates, Louisiana is such a noticeable difference that it would likely be more profitable for the given firm to expand their 50 leads in Louisiana, not across all four states.

Benefit of Partnership #2: Identify Worst Performing Areas

Much like eGen can identify which locations are performing best for your legal lead generation package, we can identify states that have room for improvement. Let’s use the same law firm as an example. Say they had a different conversion rate for Alabama:

Alabama: 3.45%

Georgia: 9.38%

Louisiana: 14.87%

Mississippi: 11.24%

We tell clients they can expect a 7-10% conversion rate from Social Security disability leads. In this scenario, Alabama isn’t performing up to our expectations, and may be a good state to eliminate from the client’s lead package. Had the client not been updating which leads were signed and which were not, he or she may only have a total conversion rate, not a conversion rate on a state level.

You might be asking, “Why do conversion rates vary state to state?” We often find they don’t. This is usually an issue for large firms that take more than one or two states within their lead package. One of the biggest reasons for a lack of conversions in one given state is due to internal issues within a firm. Travel could be too costly, which leads firms to be pickier with which cases they want to pursue. If you find that you’re not performing well in one geographical location, we can absolutely modify your lead package, but there may be other forces at play.

Benefit of Partnership #3: ID Success Rate by Employee

Pending/Signed/Rejected are fields that come standard in eLuminate. Another field you can use to analyze success through partnering with eGen is looking at contact, desired, and signed rate by user. This allows you to identify which members of your intake staff are making the most outbound calls and emails to leads and which have the highest number and highest percentage of leads signed.

There are countless reasons as to why one employee can be more successful than another when it comes to connecting with a potential client. Work ethic aside, it’s likely one employee with a better desired % for email follow ups is doing one of the following differently:

Contacting clients quickly after they become a lead

Sending a different email template

Emailing leads at different times of the day

Through custom fields in eLuminate, you can track everything a rep sends or says to a client, from custom email templates to time of day email is sent. This can help you and your team identify the most successful ways to make contact with your leads. If you have any questions on how to create custom fields, you can always reach out to your client services rep, and we can make custom fields for you.

Benefit of Partnership #4: Help Optimize Our Campaigns

While we don’t specify which campaign our leads came from in eLuminate, we are able to see lead sources on our end. By analyzing our clients’ conversion rates by campaign name, we’re able to optimize paid search efforts on our end to provide a better product for our clients.

Every three months our paid search team performs a thorough analysis of conversion rate by every marketing medium (paid search, organic search, referral) and by campaign name to ID where the best leads come from. Much like we can help you identify good and poor performing locations, this allows us to identify top and poorly performing Google and Bing campaigns. If we find that Campaign A on Google has a 12.34% desire rate for clients but Campaign B only has a 7.40% conversion rate for clients, we know that we need to reduce spend to Campaign B and shift it to Campaign A.

Get Started With Your Partnership!

If you’re an existing client and wish to start providing client feedback data on leads, please reach out to your client services representative! Setting up an employment law campaign will be similar to building any successful campaign in Ads. You’ll need to set a budget and a bidding strategy, bid on keywords relating to case types your firm can handle, and optimize based on your results. Here are some tips to help you be successful with employment law paid search.

Step One: Choosing an Employment Law Campaign Type

When creating an employment law paid search campaign, you’ll need to decide what type of campaign you’ll make. Will you do standard text ads that run on a cost per click (CPC) basis? Or will you create images and run a display campaign? For most employment law attorneys, text ads will be the best place to start. This will ensure that you’re bidding on users who are actively seeking employment law help, not showing an ad to someone who’s passively scrolling through a website.

On the other hand, a display campaign may be relevant for your firm if there’s another large employment law attorney located in the same city/region as you. A good option for building brand awareness is to target users who’ve visited your competitor’s website. These are consumers who are interested in filing an employment law claim but haven’t found your site yet—a great prospective client!

Step Two: Selecting and Building Employment Ad Groups

Much like any area of law, you’ll want to focus the foundation of your employment law CPC campaign on specific case types within employment law that are most profitable to your firm. For example, your campaign may contain 50 wrongful termination keywords, but only 5 retaliation keywords. Wrongful termination are typically much stronger cases than a simple retaliation claim, so you’ll want your campaign’s keywords to reflect this.

You’ll want to be sure to only have at most one case type per ad group—most likely multiple ad groups for your best case types. It wouldn’t make sense for someone to search “wrongful termination attorney” and pull up your ad for “discrimination lawyers”! The more closely you can mirror your employment law ad text to the keywords you’re bidding on, the more successful your campaigns will be.

Step Three: Make Optimizations to Your Employment Law Campaign

The final (and longest) step is making optimizations to your campaign. This will include the typical paid search optimizations such as pausing high-cost keywords and rewriting at text, but you’ll also need to ensure that you’re getting the case types you want from your employment law campaign.

By reviewing the search query report, you can see what users actually searched before clicking on your ad. You’ll often see that they searched exactly what you’re bidding on. In some scenarios, what a user clicks will mirror your keyword. In others, it’ll be totally different. Let’s say you’re bidding on the broad match keyword “sexual harassment lawyer” and you see the following search terms on Ads:

what is sexual harassment

signs of sexual harassment

harassed in school sexually

neighbor harasses me

sexual harassment letter template

These keywords aren’t relevant to an employment lawyer. You can optimize your campaign by adding negative keywords to “weed out” irrelevant traffic, or you can change your keywords’ match types to try to get more specific traffic instead of bidding on broad keywords.

Putting Everything Together for Employment Law

Managing an employment law paid search campaign is similar to digital marketing for any other case type. By starting with a strong foundation and taking the time to make a campaign that focuses on the case types that perform best for your firm, you can help increase your caseload by using Google Ads as well.

If you’re not generating all of the employment law leads you’d like on your own, a lead provider can help. eGen offers employment law leads nationwide—give us a call at 617.800.0089 or email us today to discuss pricing and availability in your area today.

Deanna Fri, 02/26/2021 - 14:28 Fri, 26 Feb 2021 19:28:25 +0000 Deanna 811 at https://egenerationmarketing.com https://egenerationmarketing.com/blog/employment-law-cpc#comments Three Great States for Personal Injury Claims https://egenerationmarketing.com/blog/best-states-for-personal-injury-claims Three Great States for Personal Injury Claims

Because personal injury attorneys are required to be accredited with a state’s own bar to practice law in the area, it’s uncommon to find firms who will take PI claims nationwide. If your firm is considering expanding into a new state, you’ll likely want to choose a state nearby. While this is great for travel costs, not all states are perfect for filing personal injury claims. Here are some of the best states to practice personal injury law in.

#3: Massachusetts

Massachusetts is a great state to take personal injury claims because the state has the lowest percentage of uninsured drivers. Less than 4% of MA drivers do not have insurance, meaning your firm can skip the hassle of finding someone to take to court. With plenty of insured drivers, your firm will have a better chance of getting a fair settlement.

Massachusetts’ no-fault insurance also restricts drivers to file personal injury claims unless they’ve received at least $2,000 in medical bills, meaning that it’ll be less likely that your clients will have smaller “soft tissue” claims.

#2: North Dakota

North Dakota is tied #1 with the longest statute of limitations for PI claims. This means that you’ll have plenty of time to file and win a personal injury claim.

What North Dakota also has a lot of are car crashes. According to data gathered by The Daily Beast, per capita, North Dakota is the deadliest state for drivers. North Dakota drivers are the worst in the state at signaling when they’re turning. They’re also the 6th most careless or inattentive drivers. All of these statistics mean that your firm will have plenty of auto accident claims!

#1: Maine

Maine is a great state for PI claims for a few reasons. First, Maine and North Dakota are the only states that have a statute of limitations for filing a personal injury claim of 6 years. This means that claimants who contact you from Maine could have a claim from back in 2011 that’s still valid.

Maine also has some of the best mandatory auto insurance coverage in the country. Maine requires drivers to carry $100,000 in bodily injury liability, plus $100,000 in uninsured/underinsured bodily injury. This means that if your client is hit by an uninsured driver, he or she is covered.

Another perk of all three states? They’re all cold. Brutal winters mean that shoppers and pedestrians will be more likely to slip and fall if businesses neglect to use salt to de-ice sidewalks, or forget to put up “wet floor” signs. This means your firm will get more cases during the winter months instead of experiencing an all-too-common seasonal slump. This helps them become one of the best states for personal injury lawyers.

Expanding Your Case Load?

If you’d like to take more cases across the country, give us a call today at 617.800.0089. With more than 90% of the search engine market share worldwide, lawyers from any area of law can find new clients though Google. What’s trickier is finding the right consumers online. Because more than 60,000 users search on Google every second every second, there’s a good chance your marketing budget will be wasted unless you target your ads to the consumers who are most in need of your legal services. One of the best ways to ensure you’re using your marketing dollar wisely is by using demographic targeting in Google Ads.

What is Demographic Targeting?

Demographic targeting allows you to show your ads to a subset of users online who meet demographic criteria that you’ve specified ahead of time. Google Ads allows you to target your campaigns based on the following demographics:

Age: This allows you to target users based on how old they are. Ads’ targeting options are 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65+, and Unknown

Gender: Whether the user is Male, Female, or Unknown

Parental Status: This allows you to target families. The options are Parent, Not a parent, and Unknown.

Household Income: How much a family earns. The options for targeting are Lower 50%, 41-50%, 31-40%, 11-20%, Top 10%, or Unknown

Combinations: These are combinations of any of the above demographics, such as “Male, Parent, Household Income Top 10%.”

You’ll notice that every demographic has an “unknown” category. This is because Google, like other search engines, doesn’t know everything about each user. Sometimes a user will be searching in an incognito window, or have software installed on their computer to block cookies or tracking pixels. Due to the high percentage of “Unknown” users, there’s no way to completely exclude a single demographic through Ads targeting.

How Can You Use Demographic Targeting?

How your firm uses demographic targeting will vary depending on the area of law that you practice. Some demographic targeting options may not be useful for your firm, such as gender for a Social Security disability attorney. On the other hand, age may be vital for disability lawyers. Here are three hypothetical examples of how various law firms could use demographic targeting to their advantage:

Example 1: A Social Security disability lawyer finds that the leads he generates on Google seem to be higher quality if they’re over age 40. To avoid serving his ads to a younger audience, he excludes the ages of 18-24, 25-34, and 35-44. This leaves his campaign running for users who are 45+, or whose age is unknown.

Example 2: A family law attorney who specializes in custody agreements wants to sign more parents seeking divorce. To avoid serving to users who are seeking a divorce without children, she can specifically target users who are a parent. On the other hand, if the divorce attorney avoids taking cases with children, she could exclude all consumers who are known parents.

Example 3: An employment law attorney has clients from all walks of life, whether they are a cashier who’s been shorted overtime pay to an executive who faces sexual harassment in a billion-dollar corporation. He has found that he doesn’t want to exclude anyone in the lower-income demographics, as they often have valid claims. That being said, this attorney knows that he can earn more from those who have higher household incomes. The employment law attorney bids 25% higher for those who have a high household income. This way he’ll still receive leads from low-income families, but he’s also willing to pay a premium for the cases that will be worth more.

Before Getting Started: Do Your Research

While it’s tempting to take a chainsaw to Ads and target your ideal consumer, keep in mind that the more you use demographic targeting, the smaller the audience your campaigns will have. If your firm already struggles with volume, adding demographic targeting will reduce your lead generation numbers even further. Demographic targeting is a good fit for firms who are spending more than they’d like per lead, or who would like to increase the quality of the leads they generate on Ads.

Finally, some areas of law fall under Google’s “sensitive vertical” umbrella, meaning that there may be limits to the demographic targeting you’re allowed to use. Some Social Security claimants may find that they can use age targeting, but household income targeting is a policy violation. Always do research on your specific area of law and Google’s policies to ensure your ads don’t get suspended.

Implementing Demographic Targeting

You can find options for demographic targeting and exclusions on the Ads platform’s homepage. You’ll be able to see how much you spend by demographic, how much volume is available within your already-existing campaign, and what your cost per lead is by demographic. You can be as broad or as granular as you’d like with your targeting: you can implement targeting on only one ad group within a campaign if you’d like.

By doing a little extra research into what type of consumer your firm wants, you may be able to dramatically reduce your paid lead costs while increasing your firm’s lead quality.

https://seotribunal.com/blog/google-stats-and-facts/

Deanna Tue, 11/24/2020 - 12:14 Tue, 24 Nov 2020 17:14:15 +0000 Deanna 792 at https://egenerationmarketing.com https://egenerationmarketing.com/blog/demographic-targeting-ads#comments Questions To Ask An Employment Law Lead Provider https://egenerationmarketing.com/blog/employment-lead-provider-questions Questions To Ask An Employment Law Lead Provider

Nearly 130 million US citizens work full time. Thousands of employment law attorneys protect employees’ rights across the nation, but not every attorney can afford a robust in-house marketing department to generate the demand they need to keep doors open. Lead generation companies offer employment law firms an opportunity to find claimants who indicate interest in hiring legal help without toiling over their own internal marketing campaigns.

If you’re considering purchasing employment and labor law leads, you should be prepared to speak with a lead provider to best understand what product you’ll be receiving. Here are some questions you should always ask before purchasing employment and labor law leads:

What employment law case types do you offer?

It’s important to know what types of cases you can receive when you’re working with a labor law lead provider. Do they offer wage theft? Are the majority of the leads wrongful termination cases? Depending on what your firm’s expertise is, you want to ensure that a lead provider can send you pursuable cases. eGeneration offers wage & hour, wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and other less common employment law leads.

Do you charge extra for wage theft?

Wage and hour claims are often the ideal case for employment law attorneys. Some lead providers will charge extra for top case types, such as auto accident claims for personal injury attorneys. Deciding to pay more for wage theft is a personal decision. On one hand, you will be paying more for what’s potentially a higher-quality product. On the other hand, you are risking losing perfectly pursuable cases, such as wrongful termination and FMLA violations, which can be worth a lot.

eGeneration does not charge a premium for the most ideal case types. All of our leads are sold at one price per lead.

Are the leads exclusive?

The majority of lead providers sell exclusive legal leads, eGeneration included. If a lead provider doesn’t offer exclusive leads, you’ll need to call your lead within moments of receiving it to ensure that they decide to work with your law firm instead of a competitor. Exclusive leads are more expensive, but you know that you can bypass the rat race of getting in contact with a claimant first.

While our labor law leads are always exclusive, we do recommend contacting an employment law claimant as soon as possible. The faster you reach out to a claimant, the sooner you can determine if he or she has a pursuable claim.

How do you generate your employment leads?

This is an often-overlooked question; one that can give your firm a sense of how high quality the leads might be. There are a few sources that lead generation companies for law firms use to generate leads: paid ads, organic, and email leads are some of the most popular options. It’s important that a high percentage of employment law leads come from paid sources, like Google Ads. These leads are expensive to generate on an advertiser’s side—it’s a competitive industry and leads coming from paid sources often have a higher likelihood of converting into claims.

At the time of publication, 100% of eGeneration’s employment law leads are generated on Google Ads. This allows us to target the best case types for our clients. We will eventually begin generating organic leads which will also be based on the most popular case times among our clients, but our focus always remains on generating paid leads for all of our products.

How does payment work?

Some lead providers lock you into long-term contracts or have minimum purchases required to get started. eGeneration’s billing works on a per-lead basis, meaning you pay for the number of leads you receive in a given time frame. We never have any minimum purchase amounts or long-term contracts. If you need to pause or cancel any time, we simply ask for two days’ notice.

We are excited to offer employment and labor law as our newest case type. We have nationwide availability for exclusive wage theft, sexual harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination leads. If you’d like to learn more about our employment lead pricing and availability in your area, please give eGen a call at 617-800-0089.

Deanna Fri, 01/24/2020 - 13:57 Fri, 24 Jan 2020 18:57:41 +0000 Deanna 730 at https://egenerationmarketing.com How Can I Get Free Personal Injury Leads? https://egenerationmarketing.com/blog/free-personal-injury-leads How Can I Get Free Personal Injury Leads?

As personal injury is one of the most popular niches in the legal lead generation industry, many attorneys wonder how they can receive free personal injury leads. While it is challenging to find a consistent source for free PI leads, there are some ways your firm can generate personal injury cases inexpensively so you can afford other marketing options.

How to Generate Personal Injury Leads:

Option #1: Start a Blog

Blogging is one of the most common ways small law firms try to grow their online presence. By creating a blog, you can offer content catered to the ideal cases your personal injury firm seeks. For example, if your expertise is in auto accidents with a focus on bicycling, you could add blog posts about the top 5 things a cyclist can do after a car crash.

So can you get free personal injury leads from a blog? It depends. The first thing to consider is every personal injury firm in the country is looking for ways to generate personal injury leads for free, so you certainly won’t have the first PI blog online. The other issue with this tactic is it’s slow. You can expect to wait at least six months to receive consistent traffic to your blog, and that’s assuming you’re following SEO best practices. A blog may be too time consuming for a small firm without a digital marketing team to maintain.

Option #2: Link Build

“Link building” is another SEO tactic—when you link build, you try to increase the number of websites that link to your firm’s domain. In an ideal world we’ll publish a blog and dozens of other websites will read our blog and be so inspired they’ll link to it themselves. While this occurs for major news networks like CNN or the BBC, it will not happen for 99% of PI law firms. Instead, you can offer your expert opinion in the form of a guest blog for a related organization, such as a local cycling club.

The goal here is to get a backlink to your firm as well as some referral traffic from the site that’s linking to you. Much like guest blogging, there are two big caveats:

Webmasters know the value of a backlink, so they’re not just going to hand links out to every Joe Blow who sends an email
Link building takes a long time
If you’re managing your current personal injury practice, will you really have time to send cold emails to related organizations asking them to publish your guest blog on personal injury law? The odds are slim. While link building is often successful when it comes to generating personal injury leads for free, it is—once again—a time consuming effort in a saturated industry.

Option #3: Work On Your Referrals

Referrals can help your firm sign free personal injury leads in a couple of ways: you can get referrals from both your old clients as well as other law firms.

Always maintain a good relationship with your current clients in the hopes that they send their friends and family your way. After all, nearly 3,300 people in the US die every day in a car crash. Not that you’d ever wish ill upon your client’s loved ones, but the odds are good that your clients will know someone who needs legal help after an accident.

You can also try to get free PI leads from other firms in the area who may not handle personal injury law. For example, let’s say a lot of inquiries come through to your firm about lemon law, not personal injury law. If you build a connection with a local lemon law attorney, you can send that firm your lemon law leads while your contact connects you with the personal injury leads he or she receives.

Referrals are one of the best ways to consistently receive personal injury leads for free, but the volume isn’t high enough to sustain most PI law firms.

Option #4: Consider Lead Generation

Spoiler alert: working with a lead provider is not a way to get free PI leads. It can be one of the most affordable options, however. Realistically speaking, it’ll be impossible for your personal injury firm to only generate free personal injury leads. A lead provider can supplement your current personal injury marketing options at an economical rate. Our personal injury clients have an average cost per case of $800. With average legal fees from personal injury cases typically hitting $10,000+, lead generation is one of the most profitable marketing options for PI firms.

If you’re interested in learning more about our personal injury lead services and availability in your area, give eGen a call at 617.800.0089. We would be happy to supplement your current caseload at an affordable rate so you can maintain a steady cash flow and focus your efforts on generating free personal injury leads from other sources.

https://www.asirt.org/safe-travel/road-safety-facts/

Deanna Fri, 10/18/2019 - 14:45 Fri, 18 Oct 2019 18:45:34 +0000 Deanna 702 at https://egenerationmarketing.com Single Keyword Ad Groups: The Best Tool In Your Firm’s PPC Arsenal https://egenerationmarketing.com/blog/skag-ppc-for-lawyers Single Keyword Ad Groups: The Best Tool In Your Firm’s PPC Arsenal

While pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is one of the best ways to find clients online, it’s also one of the most expensive. According to Wordstream, “attorney” alone can cost $47 per click. This isn’t guaranteeing that anyone will even contact your firm of course—simply that they’ll click on your ad. When lawyers spend so much for a single keyword, they need to ensure the ad that Google displays is as relevant to the user’s search as possible. While tedious to set up, single keyword ad groups (SKAGs) can increase your ad’s click through rate, lower ad costs, and increase the number of high-quality leads coming to your firm.

Ad Groups—What They Are, and What Is a SKAG?

An ad group is a collection of related keywords. To create an ad group, you cluster similar keywords together and make approximately three ads based around your selected keywords. When someone searches for any single keyword in your ad group, one of your three ads will display. A disability attorney may have the following keywords included in one “SSDI” ad group:

Social Security disability
Social Security disability insurance
SSDI attorney
SSDI lawyer
Social security disability attorney
Social Security disability lawyer

When you have multiple keywords within one ad group, each keyword will vie for relevancy with the ads you’ve written. This means that Google has to guess which ad would be best for a user based on his or her query, and Google’s “best guess” may not necessarily be accurate. For example, if a user searches for “SSDI attorney near me,” but your ad groups aren’t specific enough, Google may choose to display something like this:

It’s likely advertiser #1 is bidding on a broad match “lawyer” keyword, and the second advertiser does handle SSD cases but the keyword we used does not appear in their ad at all. Lower ad relevancy = lower click through rates. If users aren’t clicking on your ads, Google will charge you more than other advertisers if they have higher click through rates. When a single bid for a lawyer may cost $50, there’s no room to pay Google an extra dime due to poor ad copy. A SKAG is an ad group that has just one keyword. For example, a SKAG on SSDI may look like this:

+Social +Security +Disability +Insurance
“Social Security Disability Insurance”
[Social Security Disability Insurance]

All three keywords are the same here—the only difference is the match type. This means that your ad will not display unless someone searches for either exactly “Social Security Disability Insurance,” or searches for a phrase that includes “Social Security Disability Insurance.” Because you know your ads will only show up for a very specific set of queries, you can cater your ad text to this keyword perfectly.

How Lawyers Can Use SKAGs

SKAGs are particularly important in the legal industry not only because they’ll help your overall ad quality and lower your CPC, but they’ll also help you find very specific claimants.

Don’t worry about having to make 1,000 ad groups per campaign—if you include broad match for your SKAGs, you won’t need to worry about having one ad group for lung cancer, one ad group for breast cancer, etc. The keyword “+ssdi +cancer” will display for any query including those two words (in any order), so a user’s search of “SSDI for liver cancer” or “breast cancer SSDI benefits” will both trigger your ads.

Caveats With SKAGs

While SKAGs are a very popular PPC tactic, not everyone uses them. The first issue with building a campaign based on SKAGs is the time it takes to actually make the campaign. Instead of dumping 25 keywords into a single ad group and making three ads for the entire group, you’ll need to make three ads per keyword. This adds up if you’ve identified 100+ keywords for a single campaign.

The other issue with SKAGs is that because your ad is so specific, you won’t get as much traffic as if you used a traditional ad group. While it may be a slower method of generating leads, the traffic you will get is more relevant than the typical user.

While many PPC experts recommend using SKAGs for your ad campaigns, it’s not always feasible unless you have a full-time digital marketing specialist to help you manage your campaigns. It takes hours to set up a new campaign, let alone conduct keyword research and monitor and optimize the campaign after it goes live.

Campaign Optimization Alternatives?

Lead generation is a great alternative to managing your own PPC campaigns. Instead of building SKAGs yourself and optimizing your own conversion rates, we send you legal leads in real time from claimants who’ve indicated interest in speaking with a lawyer.

We currently offer nationwide Social Security disability, personal injury, workers’ compensation, and employment and labor leads. Not only is it an easy place to upload a myriad of content, but it’s a way to connect with potential claimants over an extended period of time through subscriptions. The only issue is you may not know how to tempt more claimants to click on that “subscribe” button. Here are some tips that may help you increase your number of blog subscribers and subsequently your number of cases signed from email marketing efforts.

Make It Easy To Subscribe

Your first step is insuring that any potential claimant who comes to your firm’s site has somewhere to subscribe. You should have some kind of blog subscription box available on every page of your blog. You can also install a widget to be easily accessible on any other page of your firm’s site. Any optimization efforts are futile without subscription accessibility.

Offer Whitepapers

A whitepaper is a downloadable piece of content geared towards helping a claimant with their issue. When you offer a whitepaper, you need to ensure that it’s unique from what someone may find on their own. For example, a two-page whitepaper explaining the differences between SSDI and SSI would not be appropriate. An exhaustive list of the resources and document templates a parent would need before applying for SSI on behalf of a child, however, would fit the bill. You can offer a whitepaper as a downloadable resource for users who choose to subscribe to your blog. While you can’t guarantee they won’t immediately unsubscribe, it’s a viable option for firms with the time to generate high-quality content.

Guest Blog Elsewhere

A major way to gain a local (or nationwide!) following is by guest blogging. When you guest blog on a relevant organization’s blog and include your byline, readers of said domain will see you as an expert in your legal industry. A potential example of how you could guest blog to get your own subscribers would be to write an article on qualifying for SSDI benefits with cancer for a local cancer nonprofit. Your blog will help countless confused families, you’ll get a link to your firm’s site, and you’ll be the first person someone facing a cancer diagnosis will turn to.

Add “Extras”

You often need to give an incentive to gain blog subscribers. One way to do this is to offer a free case evaluation after someone subscribes to your blog and provides his or her email address. What if your firm gives free case evaluations regardless? It doesn’t matter. What does matter is you’re incentivizing readers to subscribe to your blog as well as gaining new inbound interest for your legal services. So long as claimants feel they’re treated fairly and still receive an outstanding evaluation, they won’t have any issues to subscribing to your blog.

Once you’ve gained a blog following, it’s important to not spam them with garbage. Nobody wants to subscribe to a weekly email encouraging them to call your firm about a potential personal injury or workers’ compensation case. While it’s important to remind them that your firm can handle their legal woes, send your blog subscribers beneficial information. If you foster a win-win relationship with your website visitors and blog subscribers, you’ll find that your blog can become far more profitable.

Deanna Tue, 06/18/2019 - 10:08 Tue, 18 Jun 2019 14:08:01 +0000 Deanna 661 at https://egenerationmarketing.com
